Does the family you are overnight dog sitting for have to tell you about cameras in their home?

I am dog sitting for a couple for while they are on vacation. While I was there I get a text saying her dog should be taken out of the crate now. I'm in their house and thought how would they know it's time unless they are watching me? Mind you it's the morning and I was instructed to have her dog sleep in the crate at night. So, I texted her asking if they have cameras in the living room and they said yes in the Livingroom, dining room, hallway leading to the front door and I noticed outside front , back and garage. I literally have been walking around in my underwear and changing and I was never told about the ones in the house. While working for Rover do I have privacy clause saying they need to tell me about hidden cameras? It's a totally invasion of my privacy and they were mad at me like I have the problem.

Yes by law you are always supposed to make it aware to people in your home if there are camera It’s against the law to video take someone without their knowledge of it To protect animal owners if you caught on video abuse and wanted to report it and you not told sitter about being videoed you loose

I always assume there are cameras in someone’s house. I feel like people have the right to have them without telling guests for that very reason they don’t trust people they don’t know. ESPECIALLY if someone is staying in their home. Change in bathroom always. Eyes may be on you so act accordingly.

Jennifer, the law varies by state. Most allow. There is only the expectation of privacy for certain areas, like bathrooms.

No, they do not. But you should always behave like there are. Also, you don't "work" for Rover.
