Why can't I indicate preferred dog age to board?

asked 2022-02-18 18:18:20 -0500

I can only indicate the size/pounds of the dogs I will take care of in my home? That's not enough. I know I can write it out, but owners don't tend to read that.

There is only one age designation on Rover: puppies. You can elect to accept them or not. You can also specify if you have experience in caring for senior pets, as I recall, but it is not a search criteria.

I thought there used to be a checklist of dog ages that we could indicate we would take care of? If that's true, why did they take it away? I don't want to take care of any dog that is less than 2 years old, even if it's by a few months.

I don't recall there being any such designation here on Rover and I've been registered here for 10 years. I can't recall if DogVacay had any such preferences either.
