Can we get paid for meet and greets that later cancel the booking?
Hello --
I have driven somewhat lengthy distances to meet and greet a client and their animal before they book with me. Recently, a few people that I've met and booked with canceled their trip, found someone to watch their pet for free or had another excuse for canceling the booking. That's fine with me, but it's frustrating when I change personal plans/drive long distances, spend 20+ mins chatting with the people and learn about their animals only to have them cancel and never pay me anything. Is there a way to charge for a meet & greet if they cancel a booking or decide not to book me? I had one potential client invite me over, no one in the house was wearing a mask (I always do) and then I found out she invited 3 Rover sitters over to see who she liked most. Fine with me if I wasn't selected, but come on, pay the two of us who weren't picked for our time and gas spent!
As a sitter, I wouldnt charge to meet and greet. I want to do it as much for my dog as their dog. So ensure they will have a happy safe environment together. I don’t drive to the clients, though, I make them come to me and a time that works. Otherwise I don’t accept the booking.
Same here, i have 6 kids and only board, so everyone comes to me. Owners then know what to expect and can see whether their dog can handle our chaos. Ive only ever had 2 not board w us after seeing our farm.
