Do you tip your pet sitter?

I live in the Los Angeles area…is it common or expected to tip your pet sitter?

To tip or not to tip is a personal decision, and most sitters appreciate them even if not expected

As a pet sitter, I never expect tips. I figure pet owners already pay for services via the app. However, when I am fortunate enough to get a tip, it definitely makes my day even if it's $5. Many of us sitters take a lot of pride in what we do and strive to provide the best service possible so a tip is a very kind way of letting your sitter know that they went above and beyond.

I’ve only had one client tip me and it was really appreciated. If you find a sitter that goes above and beyond to make your pets stay a good one, a tip is a great way to say thank you!

Tips are definitely not expected but they are very much appreciated and feel earned if I book with a client further than my profile says is my radius I’m willing to work within and if owners are running late to pick up their fur kids or returning home to relieve me. Also, it’s also great when they do because i was able to take them on as a client as a last minute request. But definitely not expected; always a great treat though and something to motivate someone to continue to give 5 star service to every time.

Personally, taking the time to give me a positive review feels like a tip. Also, telling their friends and referring them to me.
