Browse opportunities without paying fees?

Hi all,

I'd like to browse opportunities in my area and just get a general feel of what it would be like to be a sitter. Is there a way to do that without paying the background check fee? Or is it possible to get a refund if I don't accept any jobs? I just want to get a better understanding of whether or not this is for me. Thanks!

Vivian, there is no way to "browse opportunities" on Rover. I believe there are some sites where pet owners post if they need a sitter or walker, but that is not how it is set up on Rover. Pet owners look through sitter/walker profiles and contact those that may meet their needs.

If you’re not sure this is what you want to do, you could try it out many different ways.

Hand out business cards when you meet pet owners and/or ask pet friendly businesses about distributing them. Post online (CL,FB, etc) Contact other pet care companies, some who hire independent contractors for walks / stays.
