If your dog sitter somehow were to get hurt/hospitalized etc., and unable to get to your home for their scheduled visit, what is the back up plan?

I live in an apartment in a gated community, with that said I need to give my gate card and house key to the pet sitter.

Addition: To get refunded, contact rover directly at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team].

I’d suggest that you may want to create a back up. The easiest way of doing this is when you choose your sitter or walker, choose 2 service providers. Explain to them (either in messages or when you meet them) that you want to create relationships with 2 people in case one is unavailable (could be due to unavailability as well as vacation or illness etc.) &Book both of them at different times.

All that said, if the sitter/walker or you contacted Rover that they were unavailable to take care of a scheduled visit, Rover would try to locate someone to fulfill those responsibilities... but I don’t know how quickly or easily that would happen, in the circumstance described above.
