Has Rover plans to charge by the day?

Hi, as a new sitter my rates are comparatively low. However, I’ve just realised my first booking will take up 4 whole days and I’m getting paid for 3 nights. I’ve had to blank out the 4th day but will not be getting paid. I think this needs addressing. Most kennels and cattery’s now charge by the day.

Rover will never change this to days vs. overnights. however, you are an independent business owner and can charge what you wish, just adjust the booking before you accept it.

Always find out the dropoff and pickup times before accepting a booking. Then you can modify it for the additional time before the client has paid.

You still have an option though since the engagement hasn't started or taken place. Contact the owner and tell them that their pet needs to be picked up by _ time, which would correspond to when they dropped it off. Tell them that each "night" is good for only up to 24 hour of care. If they cannot pick up the pet by _, then you could create another booking request for the additional time. Depending on the overage, it could be for your daycare rate or another full "night" of boarding if, for example, it is for longer than 10 hours.

Rover's system now asks for planned dropoff and delivery times, even though its system doesn't bill according to them. So it is important to look at the separate message that is generated with that important info before accepting a booking.
