How to handle short-notice with calendar, etc.?
Hi! I'm relatively new to Rover ... one things that has been a little difficult to know how to handle, is short-notice requests. I try to keep my calendar up-to-date, but I often think in terms of needing a day or two notice to take in a dog. I don't want to have to necessarily log in every day that I don't have a booking, and since I'm "free" that day I make plans, so I'd need to mark "today" or "tomorrow"'s date as not available, every day. I have had requests the night before, or even same-day, which I often can't accommodate ... since when I don't get a booking for a dog, I make plans for "tomorrow" to do other things, since I'm not booked that day.
Should I get used to updating calendar every day, or is there a way to specify "I need X days notice" so that I don't appear 'available' on a same-day?
Thanks! -Jim
I would keep the calendar up to date, it’s very frustrating to hear back from someone who’s calendar is “open” and they say they aren’t. Just mark it off when you make plans, since last minute dog sitting etc is definitely a need and causes added stress when denied. HTH:)
I agree with keeping calendar updated daily I'm brand new to Rover and have reached out to FOUR sitters near me that showed availability for tomorrow. My dad is in the hospital and I need someone to watch my lil guy very urgently. But every one of them so far has replied with a "can't do" Grrrr!
I dont understand why Rover allows this to happen when there is a setting that I have set to give 3 days notice.
