“Not really that expensive” is expensive when they’re charging more for a background check to watch someone’s animals than other sites are charging to watch literal human children. Sittercity does not even require a background check to view or even apply to jobs, but they also gave me a free option
I signed up for this site and have never used it due to only needing it between real stable employeement. If I’m unemployed I obviously need this app to make money. I don’t have money to put into it that I’m not guaranteed back, hell even when I have the money I refuse just out of principal. If I can apply to babysitting jobs where I’m expected to care for human children without a background check, there’s no way in hell I’m paying $35 to care for someone’s pet. I get it, I love my pets, but I would not expect anyone to pay that much for a background check to watch my babies when I just got a free background check on sittercity and it was like $15-$20 for it before they gave me a free one, but it was never required.
All this to say, I live in a rural area and I highly doubt there’s many job opportunities here, but it will not allow me to view them without first paying for a background check so I guess I will never know
