Say you want to meet with them. If they say yes, say "Can you book a meet and greet please on date and time." Tell them where too. If they ask why, "For my dog and I to meet you." Cat too for anyone who has cats. How your dog and cat reacts will tell you if they are good for them. Make sure they listen to the sitter. For shy dogs, I ask the dog owner to walk them with me. As we do they give me the leash and the dog sees and is just enjoying themselves. They then like me once they see their owner say I am fine with me just walking with the 2.

You can schedule a Meet & Greet with a sitter prior to booking their services.

How do you go about a meet and greet before you book

send them an email (with rover) and your cell number and ask if they can meet before boarding. Thanks.

Personally, as a dog sitter I always like to have a meet and greet in my home prior to agreeing to watch someone’s pet. It’s a good chance to assess how the dog will fit in with my own dogs. If there are territorial or other issues it’s best to find out ahead of time. I must say that I have never had a fight between the animals. I also like them to meet in the yard first because it gives them a chance to mark their scent so when they return they feel more familiar. Owners should ask questions because the sitter wants them to feel at ease with the placement of their pets while they are away. Then the dog is on vacation too!

I like to have a meet and greet, so I can see how my dogs react to the sitter. I have them house sit, as I want my dogs to be comfortable, in their own house and yard, while my husband and I are gone.

I always ask for meet and greets(in person or virtual if travel is hard) prior to accepting a dog for Boarding. There is a green box either you or the sitter can propose a meet and greet. Also google duo is an awesome way to meet as well.

If you're local to the Santa Maria area, i'd love to meet you any time! Otherwise, look for a sitter in your area who you might like and just send them a direct message! They should be willing and able to meet you, schedule permitting!

Good luck.
