What can I charge for Day care and overnight stay?

If I look after a dog for the day and the owner wants the dog to stay overnight do I just charge my overnight rate?

If you charge £30 for a boarding dog that stays with you for 24 hours per nightly charge, then technically your daycare client's dog should be able to stay with you for that. It really all depends on when the dog was dropped off and when it will be picked up the next day. Daycare stays should not exceed 10-12 hours.

For example, if the dog was dropped off for daycare at 7am, will the dog be picked up at the same time the next day? If not, then you have to take that into consideration when adjusting for this switch to boarding.

FWIW, you might want to reevaluate your rate table. I saw a couple of anomalies. I am not sure why you charge less for puppies. The vast majority of sitters charge more for them as they are more work. Also, you give clients a discounted rate for various services if booked for 3 days or more. Perhaps that makes sense at times for boarding, but I could never see that for house sitting or drop-ins (they're no different than walks). Just something to consider.

Hope this helps.

I don't get why some sitter charge less for long term boarding. You are still watching the dog, doing the same amount of work, why discount? You need to be paid and compensated for your time and quality of services. ( just my thought) =s

Many thanks Erica
