seeking sitter with skill set of manual expression?

Hi there, I’m in search of a dog/house sitter for my special needs (paralyzed) French bulldog during times I travel. Most specifically, I’m looking for someone who’s experienced with “manual expression” (she can’t pee on her own & her bladder needs to be emptied for her.) If you think you’d know of anyone that might be a good fit, I’d love to make a connection & chat soon. Thanks so much for your time & consideration.

Many Rover sitters are also trained Vet Tech's and would be able to provide care for your pup. Unfortunately, the search filters don't have that option. If I were you I'd give Rover support a call to see if they can help identify a few sitters in your area, best of luck. [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]

I would talk to your vet about a vet tech at their office that offers pet care. or board your dog at your vet. You just cannot be too careful with a seriously handicap pup.

Hi Sara, Not sure if you check Rover. I am in the same boat as you and have been for so long. Let me know if you want to connect and possibly help each other. I live in nyc area. Luigi, our standard dachshund, has been paralyzed for 7 years and the one massive problem has been finding someone to help us so we can catch a break. Thanks!

We live in the Northern VA/DC area and would be happy to sit for any dog needing manual bladder or bowel expression. We’re in the same boat with our elderly pug who has needed expression for 4 years due to myelopathy. Please reach out any time - we host on Rover.
