I am currently on leave from my company due to COVID and have been dog sitting here and there since I've started collecting unemployment. However, I am unsure how to report my income online to certify. It asks for employer name and address etc. Anyone know how to properly go about this?
Every state administers unemployment differently. You're getting the regular type of unemployment because you've been laid off. Rover, however, is not your employer now. You are an independent contractor, self-employed, a "gig worker." So if it is asking for information about income you've earned, then you can only describe it as "self-employed."
I filed in Virginia as self-employed and have been receiving the pandemic unemployment payments for 4 months now, but it is about to end in a few weeks. Virginia did not ask me to supply any verification of earnings, but they have access to my state filed income taxes. My weekly filings ask if I have earned any income and it would be reported as self-employed and the amount earned.
