We are meeting this week, setting a time now. I am not going to just get charged for a week of sitting without a meet and greet with the family and dog. What do I do?
You will not be charged until the sitter formally accepts the booking and you reconfirm it. After the sitter agrees, you will receive a confirmation invoice from Rover that you will need to accept before there's any charge. Remember, even after the M&G, you may decide it didn't go all that well and have no intention of going forward. This process does ensure that everybody agrees before any charges are processed.
Also, Rover encourages clients to meet more than one sitter. You would have to set up bookings for each one. Logically, you aren't going to be charged for all of them. When you find the one sitter you want and finalize, then the charge goes through.
