My Dog doesn't like to be groomed or have his nail clipped, what can it be done?

What can it be done? I had a groomer that gave him a sedative and after an hour or so he is very calm almost asleep, although he recovered well after several hours later my question are if this is safe and/or are there any other solutions?

There are definitely other solutions! While not a quick fix, like sedatives, desensitization and counter conditioning are all great ways to get stressed or fearful dogs through the grooming process.

Working at home, associating items used in grooming with good things like treats, toys, and love are a great way to start. Aswell having a groomer that understands stress levels in your pet and is willing to make a stressful 3 hour long session, into many small fun sessions, can drastically reduce your dogs anxiety and fear to grooming.

Finding a fear free professional in your area could be a great start to working on your pets grooming fears, as well as taking the time to look into information and videos on desensitization and counter conditioning to grooming items and scenarios!
