Understanding the Rover rates?
Would you accept $15 for 11 hours of work?
A client asked if I’d be willing to house sit for her dog from 10am-11pm. She noted that she would be willing to pay me $15 under the table (even though after fees my house sitting Rover rate was $16). At first, I thought that this meant hourly. She then told me that other Rover uses charge that rate FLAT.
However the house-sit rate notes “overnight” and I would not be doing that. So, I assumed that this was different, esp bc she wanted to pay under the table.
Why doesn’t Rover have hourly fees? Would you accept this? Is $15 all day fair? when I told her that I thought it to be an hourly rate, she retaliated and said I would not have to do any hard work besides watch TV all day. Opinions and thoughts please!
It sounds like a pet owner who wants to pay as little as they possibly can. Your time is valuable just like anyone else's. If she only needs care from morning until night then that is doggy daycare and even that rate is higher than $15. Please don't sell yourself short!
