How to improve my chances for my first "out of town" booking?

Hello and thank you for taking the time to support my Rover adventure here. My question is related to booking out of town assignments, whether it's dog walking, drop-in visits, or house-sits.

Background:

I signed up as a Rover sitter a few months ago. I was curious because I'm an experienced house sitter (including pet sitting) with verified reviews on a different site. I know it takes time to build up Rover-based clients and reviews. (Same experience with the other site).

I do understand the more reviews, the better the opportunity of securing my first booking. Some of my clients were kind enough to support me by providing a review here. However, I'm aware that Rover-verified reviews are more favorable on this site.

  • I update my profile during my long-term assignments out of town and verified they showed up and were accurate. No problems there.
  • My rates are reasonable enough to break in as an introductory price. No real issue there.
  • I check in regularly to update my availability and find myself on the first page of the search results. Works as expected.

All that is in working order.

The challenge is that my availability is limited to within walking distance (up to two miles) from the home owner's address. Keep in mind that I limit my availability to cities/towns where they are very pedestrian-friendly and have strong public transportation. As mentioned earlier, my profile shows my service area to be accurate each time I update my location.

My question is this.

What else can I do to improve my chances for out of town bookings?

Any feedback would be fantastic. Thanks again in advance.
