Rover Now walkers: what are your insights and experiences regarding frequency of requests?
He there, I was just curious if any Rover Now walkers have any insights about their experience providing the service. I'm particularly interested in hearing how frequently you see new on-demand requests in your request tab.
I just got certified for Rover Now 2 weeks ago (though I've been a regular Rover walker since 2018). I'm a bit surprised at how few requests there seem to be across NYC. The majority I see are not reachable within 30 minutes (I nabbed 3 in the last 2 weeks, and saw 3 or 4 more that I wasn't able to book in time). Of the requests I do see, many are as much as 10 miles away, which seems to imply I am seeing all requests across all boroughs of NYC at the given moment. But, within that large scope, I usually don't see more than one or two dozen requests per day (usually between 0 and 3 at any given time). This is with regular checking, sometimes extended periods of constant refreshing.
Do other city-dwelling Rover Now walkers have a similar experience? If so, did it somehow improve over time? I'm wondering if Rover Now walkers only see a percentage of requests across their city (regardless of distance/reachability), and if perhaps that percentage increases and/or customizes itself the longer and more consistently you interact with it.
Thanks!
