Tax Time! Please help?

Hey, it's almost tax time. How do sitters go about filing for something like this in the state of California?

I am not familiar with the California form, but typically a figure from your Federal 1040 carries over onto the state form. In fact, on the state form, it will ask for a certain line item off the Federal form, usually the Adjusted Gross Income figure. California may have some unique categories of adjustments, but your Rover net income will carryover from Form 1040. So you do that first. Rover earnings and expenses are reported via Schedule C to Form 1040.

You should speak with a CPA or tax professional to be sure you file correctly. Sitters are independent contractors and business owners, filing taxes requires the completion and submission of Schedule C.
