Sitter Profile Inactive after chatting?

Helllo, I was just chatting with a potential sitter, we confirmed everything together (did not book yet) but when I go back to the sitters profile, it says it's no longer active.. Is this still safe?

If the sitters profile is showing inactive they are no longer accepting business on the platform, sorry for this. I suggest you search your area again for available sitters.

Would the sitter be listed as inactive if they discussed going off platform with a client?

Not necessarily

Same thing happened to me. Planned a meet and greet then next thing their profile is no longer active. Is that normal? Should I look again? Should I be worried about the person coming while I’m away?

There is the possibility that there's a technical glitch. If you want to book with a specific sitter, call rover customer support [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] and ask if they can book it or confirm if sitter available.

This just happened to us to! Makes me very nervous

I as a sitter did this a few months ago, I was getting super overwhelmed from the constant demands I needed a little break I couldn’t keep accepting. I was trying to move, and take Care of my I’ll mother and just couldn’t do what I needed to for the dogs at the time. Sorry that happened to you
