Do you need to be licensed in the state of Colorado if you are hosting pets through Rover?

I am new to http://Rover.com. I checked my Local City Council page for Colorado Springs and it doesn't look like there is an application/need for a license. Does anyone know if the State requires s formal license/fees.

Thanks!

You don't need any licence for walking, drop in visits or boarding less than 3 dogs a night.

There are very specific rules in Colorado about pet care facilities and you do need to be licensed to board more than 3 dogs at a time and to transport dogs. You do not need to be licensed to walk dogs or to do drop in visits or to board less than 3 dogs. Try this link:

Thank you so much for letting me know the rules in words that I can understand. HAHA! I did find that document online but had a hard time really understanding it.

You won't really be subject to these rules unless you are operating a licensed facility! It's possible to get a license and board more than 3 dogs through rover, but I think the cost wouldn't be worth it.

Thanks Veronica. I never plan to have more than 2ish dogs at a time (and ideally from the same family). Again THANK YOU!

I keep seeing this when I google search but Denver Post won't let me read it, claiming I need to pay a subscription fee. :( Thank you.

Perhaps you've used up all your free visits. That happens to me with certain news sites that I frequent like the NY Times or one of our local papers. Sometimes you can get around it by opening up a different browser. I would post the whole thing here, but it is rather long.
