Rover sends an email to the client shortly after the completion of the booking, but unfortunately many clients ignor the request. Many sitters reach out to the client after the booking is completed to ask them to leave a review and may offer them a $10 discount on a future booking if they leave a review. Best of luck

How do I know if the customer will get the discount or not? I don't want to lie to them.

A lot of my clients used to ignore it too, so I would always message them after the stay thanking them, and asking if everything was ok or if there was something they weren't happy with and then I would write something that a 5 star rating would mean the world to me (just like uber drivers ha). Now I remind each client after the stay that I would be very grateful for their rating because Rover likes to see that clients are happy with my services. It works for me :)

Great advice! I'm going to use this!

I am new here and didn't know that a rating wasn't required, just requested. That is good to know. Thank you.

Yes, they do that automatically.

After the first booking with a new client I typically ask them to leave a review and mention it's how I get business and stay active. I also leave a thank you card and a little treat if it is safe. That works almost 100% of them time. I notice that when I don't say anything they are still likely to do a star rating but not write a review.

Good Ideas. Do you leave the reminder on the thank you card, because I read earlier in this forum, that rover sends emails to clients asking them to review, I don't want to be rude but I also don't want to be pushy.

I don't ask in the handwritten card. I just say thanks for letting me hang out with their pup, we had fun and hope to see them again soon! If there was anything unique or goofy about their dog I'll stick that in too lol
