Dog Boarding with Fleas?

Hey guys, the dog that I am boarding has fleas. She arrived yesterday and she has been itching non stop, and till she bleeds.... I dont know what to do with the owner.. He said that they forgot to do the usual anti-flea procedure... My house is all infested now, and I will have to do the disinfesting.. .but I am very grossed out. It is just very disrespectful towards the sitter not telling me that their dog is infested. The poor puppy has not been trained, and shes pooping and peeing all the time, regardless the 4 walks per day of 1 hour. I will have her until thursday, and theoretically the owner could take her because they are at home, just not there during the day. I dont want to live with fleas for almost a week.

If I kindly ask the owner to pick her up, would my rating be affected? The puppy is lovely, but the owners are very irresponsible... PLEASE HELP I feel so bad for this poor puppy... shes whining all the time from the irritation...

I'd guess that cancelling would affect your rating. However, that does not mean you have to do nothing either.

Here are my suggestions: 1. Ask owner what preventative dog is on and let them know you can buy it for their pup if they'll reimburse you. Also, ask where they get pup bathed and offer to take pup so the pup can get relief (specifically mention scratching to the point of bleeding if You haven't already) while you try to rid your home of fleas. 2. Offer to modify the service to house sitting at their home during the day for no additional charge (which your rates already reflect) so it's really an easy change- just communicate in the rover messages so it's documented that you'll care for the dog at the dog's home during the day. Let them know that her constant accidents indoors may be the result of anxiety as she may have difficulty adjusting to a new place. Some dogs do better staying at home than going to a sitter's home (new place, new people, new smells - it's a lot)
