How do you let customers know you offer daytime house sitting in THEIR home?

I can't do daycare in my home, but would love to offer daytime house sitting for customers who want someone with their dog while they're at work. How should I let customers know that I provide this service? Here are the options I'm thinking of:

  1. Turn on daycare services and explain to each request that I provide daycare in THEIR home (contrary to how Rover describes daycare).
  2. Offer daytime housesitting to anyone who requests multiple drop-ins or overnight house sitting.
  3. List daytime housesitting in my profile and don't otherwise mention it.

I would use the house sitting rate and make sure it is described right at the beginning of your profile. Most people would rightly assume that daycare is at the provider's establishment, whereas with house sitting they would know it is going to be performed at their home.

I already offer overnight house sitting though, so I'm trying to find a way to distinguish daytime house sitting from overnight and make it easier for customers to find. :-/

So your option is to turn on doggie daycare and make sure your put info on your offering high on your profile - best of luck

Yes, I realize that you already offer house sitting. Unfortunately, there is no way to create your own unique rate/service in the table. You have to use what already exists. I would add to "Jean's Critter Care" something like "Daycare in Your Home Now Available" and say to contact you about rates.

The only way you can do this currently is to make a note in your about me section of your profile. However, that won't stop potential clients from trying to book you for daycare in your home. Best of luck

So you think it's okay to offer "daycare" and just explain to people (via message and in my profile) that I do it a little differently?

I think a combination of all three options sound wise.

Definitely, describe how/when you're available for day care sitting at their home in your profile.

When anyone contacts you about drop in visits or walks, discuss their needs and explain what you're available for to see if this may also fit their needs. Many clients will try out and often convert to a service other than what they were originally thinking of booking when they see how well it works out for them and their pets.

Beyond Rover, consider marketing this specialized service on social media and/or printed marketing material (business cards, etc)
