Why do we have to add Holiday fees ourselves?

If I have a client booking over a holiday, why doesn't rover factor in the holiday charge? I have a dog over Christmas, but Rover didn't add holiday fees for Christmas Eve, Christmas, Boxing day or New years eve, I had to adjust it manually. Why does Rover not do this for us? I couldn't just change the fees for specific dates, I had to add a flat fee to the total.

For a holiday rate to be applied to a booking you first have to set up your holiday rate schedule - this you haven't done yet. So update your profile rates and future booking requests will apply the rate. Best of luck

Every sitter establishes the amount of the holiday surcharge they want applied to their regular rates via the rate table that Walt mentioned. There are some sitters who don't even have a holiday rate or will manually remove it from other dates in a booking and only have the day of the holiday be at the higher rate. That's your call.

Anyway, you need to completely fill in the rate table here:

https://www.rover.com/account/profile...

Be sure to click on "Additional Rates" in order to get the holiday rate surcharge, additional dog rate (not a surcharge but a fixed amount) and others.

With that in place, Rover will automatically apply your holiday rates to every day within a booking during certain listed periods. You can check in the Help section for the periods/dates Rover has designated as a holiday in 2018.
