Is it ok for sitters to have visitors, overnight or otherwise?

It is evidend that my sitter had an overnight visitor while I was gone. I did not instruct otherwise. What is Rover's stance on this?

As a sitter I automatically assume that the pet’s owner would not want me to invite my own guests to their home. I wouldn’t feel comfortable inviting anyone over to a pet owner’s home even if they stated I was allowed.

Sitters do not work for Rover but are independent. Rover would have no position on that. As the client, it is up to you to discuss the job's requirements with the sitter. However, in my opinion, the sitter should have asked your permission before allowing anyone else into your home. I suggest you discuss it with the sitter, you can complain to Rover ([Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]), or install cameras in your home.

I absolutely agree with Karen. However, it is YOUR job to tell the sitter your expectations. This is your house and you need to let her know your rules when it comes to visitors, TV, computer, coffee maker, food, drink, shower etc. It's very important to discuss this before you let a person stay in your home.

Rover does have a check list of questions for sitters at the meet and greet, which covers those things. Don't know if you can see that so you'll have it yourself if your sitter doesn't use it.
