when making a booking payment is requested is that the full amount? is there a cancellation policy in place given a certain amount of time?

How much is due? Is there a cancellation time frame given I am booking 5 months in advance?

Yes, you are charged the full amount when you book the service and the sitter accepts. That is the only way you can reserve a spot with a sitter. However, Rover holds the funds. The sitter does not receive payment until after the service is completed.

Each sitter sets his/her own cancellation policy (strict, moderate or flexible). When you cancel determines whether you will get a refund and how much. That is all laid out here:

Does Rover hold back any service fees from the refund? I signed up for Rover Sept 2014 and believe that was before Rover started charging fees to the Owner.
