What is considered normal pick up and drop off times?

What is the customary pick up and drop off times. When does Rover’s computer determine a 24 hour day?

There aren't any customary dropoff and pickup times. Rover's booking/billing system is strictly on a calendar-day basis; it doesn't know when the dog was dropped off or picked up. In their system, a day ends at midnight.

You should establish your own rules, ones that work best for you. I don't allow dropoffs before 8 am or pickups after 10pm. I'm not a 24-hour Starbucks. Some sitters have a smaller window for their business hour and will state that dogs not picked up after, say, 5 pm (regardless of when they were dropped off) will incur another night's charge.

I keep it simple and emphasize to clients that one night of boarding is only good for up to 24 hours of care and the clock starts ticking when they drop off their dog. If it is a morning dropoff and an evening pickup is planned, I will adjust the bill. Often my clients have early flights and, since I won't allow them to drop off their pet at 6 am, I tell them to bring the dog the night before, which is really better for all concerned and adjust the bill as I would have anyway for the day charge.

I do give them a few hours leeway but I don't tell them that. Better to instill a little bit of discipline from the outset.

I'm sure you will get a variety of answers about hours because everyone is an independent contractor and sets his/her own work rules.

No customary times are set by Rover. Likewise, Rover does not calculate the 24 hour period. Each client and each stay/visit can have different needs. The sitter needs to ask pick up and drop off times before booking and then determine if an adjustment needs to be made.

Example: If service time states in AM and ends (however many days later) in PM, depending on the number of additional hours, some sitters may add adjustment and some may not.
