Is it standard for a sitter to offer a tour of their home?

I did a meet and greet and the owner did not offer a tour of their home. If they do not invite you inside, is it acceptable to ask?

I would not use a sitter who does a meet and greet outside and won't invite me in to see the dog room or backyard. Doing a meet and greet outside without inviting you inside the house is not typical.

Nothing is standard on Rover. All sitters are independent contractors and set their own policies.

However, you have every right to see where your dog is staying. I invite all potential clients over to my house for a Meet & Greet before accepting a job. I don't show them the entire house, but the areas (inside and out) where their dog is allowed to be.

The M&G is a highly recommended first step in the Rover process. We talk about the dog and the owner's needs/expectations and get all questions answered. Set something up with your sitter. He/she should be very willing to oblige. Even a kennel/boarding facility will show you around.

Many sitters show new clients their home during the meet and greet, some do not, it is their personal preference, but you are always free to ask.
