Left a sitter a bad review -- now they're getting aggressive?

We had an uncomfortable experience with our last Rover sitter, so I left a brief review with some notes on our problems. I made sure to be as kind as possible since I thought they were nice people and meant well, so I tried to emphasize that in our review (by using those exact words).

The sitter immediately got very argumentative and started messaging me, even after I asked her to stop. She then wrote a lengthy response to my review (posted on her profile), in which she called me "theatrical" and directly contradicted what we had talked about in person.

We've generally had great experiences with Rover, but this experience has left a really bad taste. Is there anything that can be done in this situation? Has anyone here gone through a similar situation?

You can't really leave a bad review and make them seem good at the same time. Nobody is going to care how nice you say they are after they read about the bad experience. The review is still going to hurt their business even though you've said they were nice.

So as long as the review was warranted I would contact rover if the sitter continues to harass you.

This is the best thing to do for sure.

Report the sitter to Rover @ [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Best of luck finding a better sitter on the Rover platform.
