No. Rover only asks sitters to rate the pets and provides a comments area and does not facilitate rating owners at all . A sitter could write anything they choose in the comments area, but only rover has access to that, and it is mainly referred to for matters of trust & safety.

No. But I had one owner from hell and I called Rover to let them know about the situation and told them to deal with him as he is actually their client, he pays Rover directly, not me :) And they did deal with him and I made sure I did leave a description of him when rating his doggy :)

What about owners that book and constantly cancel reserved days/weekends? It’s pretty ridiculous. Yes I know you can set strict guidelines but you all should score the owners that are habitually shady. If a sitter commits to a person a they cancel then the sitter missed out in other opportunities

Pet Sitters do not "rate owners" but we are asked at the end of every stay to Rate the pets. Our ratings that we enter are only visible to the Rover staff, it is not shared with other sitters.

As far as Rating an owner, no. We are never asked to rate the owners or about our experience with the owner.

We do have a "notes" section under every pet which is open for the sitter to write what ever info they would like. Weather it be about the pet or the owner but this is more notes for the sitters, not so much for Rover.

With that being said, Rover does have full access to every section in the Rover platform. They are able to read all of our messages back and forth between the client and sitter, along with listening to phone calls when using the rover numbers. In the event of an incident during a stay, Rover will ask all parties involved to provide them with a written statement for their records but they would not go off of a sitters "notes". The notes are more primarily to refresh the sitter on the pets.

Pet owners should have ratings as well. It's a real liability for sitters not to have this information. Why do you not have a mutual rating system?

While other sitters said NO, the answer is really yes! SItters can submit a review of the booking and can include notes about the dog and the owners. Only Rover can see the review and can refer to it if any issues occur now or in the future.

It's become apparent for sitters to learn more about problems with pet owners before we accept bookings. Even with meet & greets, problems with owners can surface and we should be informed if a pet owner has posed problems in the past. I just had a terrible experience with a dog owner.

I probably should have seen it coming when I first met her, but she was desperate for a sitter over the Holidays, so she presented a different attitude than when she picked up her pup. Now she has written a terrible review, full of untruths and allegations.

I don't know if you can address this in some way. I wrote a reply to the review, but it's completely unfair for her to lie and make accusations of improper care on my part. I went above and beyond for her extensive requirements and still she decided to write a terrible review.
