There is no easy answer to how the Rover search algorithm works, not even Rover support can tell you. Like you many sitters complain about where they show up in the searches, one thing the search area is large on the map and that's why sitters from outside your area show up. If I shrink the map 1 click you show up as number 2.

I would work on your profile a bit, take and pass the Rover 101 quiz and get the badge it is important. And many of your photo's are very blurry and that hurts you when potential clients look at your profile. Best of Luck

It makes no sense, because I was wondering the same thing today too. When I search my own address, it shows me bunch of people who do not live around here, and I show up somewhere like number 13. For my own address.

Usually updating your calendar daily will bump you up.

Like Walt says above, I see you at number 13, if i shrink it once, you show up as an 8 and if i do it again, you're the very first one.

My rank was down there as well until recently, I started responding to booking requests within minutes, increasing my radius of service, and also booking almost all of my requests. Now I'm showing up as #1 or #2. It seems like many things factor into the algorithm. It has seriously helped. I'm constantly getting contacted by new clients now! Best of luck!
