Why does my 13wk old puppy pee while walking in house?

My 13wk old German Shepard puppy sometimes asks to go outside to pee (usually) but other times we will find long stretches of pee on the tile floor (thank God for tile) like he was just peeing as he walked around. He is crate trained and does not go to the bathroom in his crate and he is brought outside to pee quite often during the day & evening. He is rewarded for going to the bathroom outside every time. Why would he pee like this in the house? I know they have small bladders but this is crazy. Possible Infection? Lazy? Defiant?.....Help, LOL

Wow, I know this is a year later, but I also have a 13 week old puppy that pees while he walks. All the same applies to ur post, crate trained, won’t go in the crate or on my bed, holds it all night, but randomly pees inside and while he is walking !!! Please tell me ur puppy grew out of it !!

I am having the same problem with my German Shepard puppy! Exact same circumstances, crate trained, asks to go out.... I can’t imagine it’s behavioral. We have a vet appt on Tuesday night hoping it’s not a UTI.

What you are experiencing is typical puppy behavior, they get excited and the bladder releases. Given time this will dissipate. Good luck with your new pup
