How do I Interview sitters without booking a date?

We have been interviewing possible sitters for our pets from your site.We liked the first one we met and booked her.I then contacted other sitters for a meet and greet. I did not put a date, but some how http://Rover.com put in a request for the date we booked. So,I have been having to respond with a no, to people we interviewed.Embarrassing.We would like to meet more sitters but, now I am not sure how to go about it.

I think a date is required, but if you don't enter one it defaults to one. That way the only sitters shown are those whose calendars reflect they're available. It's perfectly acceptable to let sitters know that you're meeting with others to find the best match and while you appreciated meeting them, you're still looking and will contact them if interested. You may also choose to let them know you found one you liked and booked and now you're looking for an alternate sitter (which most people understand is smart in case one is not available). Sitters know that Rover suggests pet parents meet more than one sitter before deciding who to book. Please don't feel embarrassed. If you need help, Rover can try to help match you to the right sitter for no extra charge, just call [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed.
