RAtes for sitting for 5 puppies?

A lady would like me to care for her 5 puppies in my home for five nights. Can we only charge as one dog? Plus, she would like me to have visitors to see the puppies that she might be selling. The whole thing will result in a payment of 150.00 It seems a lot of work because it is five puppies who are only 8 weeks old. Suggestions? Advice? Am I crazy to be considering not doing this? thanks for any tips you can give me!

Holly, I am just interested. Did you host the five puppies?

I am hoping that you are asking this question and not the owner, but I would agree with Deb. As cute and adorable 8 week old puppies are, they are a lot of work.

That young they are not potty trained, want to play at all hours of the day, just learning their little voices and barks, are going to be getting into everything, and then not to mention there will be 5 of them. (speaking from experience: when you keep them in a confined area, they will go potty, step in it then jump all over their brothers and sisters).

I would say absolutely NO, to having people come to your home to see the puppies. These are complete strangers who you know nothing about. (chances are they are random people from Craigslist) I would expect her to want to meet the people that she may decided to sell the puppies to. (That is so not your job, not to mention puts you in the middle) You than have to plan your days around people who may or may not show up to see the puppies and who may or may not be on time to see the puppies. That is not right for her to have asked you to do. I find it very imposing. If she wants to find homes for the dogs, she needs to do that on her own time.

Be prepared for the owner to ask for a discount- in which I would say no. when you have 5 dogs it does add up quickly but it still is the same amount of work for you (if not more). Best of Luck!

I can't even imagine caring for 5 puppies in my home...and show them off to potential buyers.

IF you want (and have the stamina and patience) to do this, and if it's booked on rover, ALL 5 puppies must be listed on profile. Support can help her if needed. Puppies are usually more work than a dog (and at 8 weeks with potential buyers), I'm going to say it sounds like a LOT more work and merit a higher rate. The Cost Adjustment line can be used with a positive or negative value (+/- $) for additional services or discounts.

Your profile shows your puppy rate is the same as adult dog rate (which I'd suggest you may want to increase). Currently, that means, for 5 puppies, she'd be billed $150 per night, which means for each 24 hour increment. So, she should expect to pay $750 for 5 nights.
