I am looking to book a sitter in September. If I book now I need to pay now. Does the sitter get the money upfront?

When booking for a stay that is months away, I am being asked to pay upfront. How am I certain the sitter will show? we are going out out of the country and need assurance that if we prepay that will actually get someone to show up.

All bookings are prepaid to Rover, which holds the funds until two days after the job is completed before paying it over to the sitter. Rover stands behind each booking. If your sitter didn't, in fact, show up, then Rover would find you a substitute.

The best way to make sure everything goes as planned is to meet and interview potential sitters and read their reviews. Ask questions? Do they have repeat customers? How long have they been doing this? If you do your homework and communicate with the sitter, that will help ensure a successful arrangement.

How do you get to meet/talk with sitter prior to committing.I could not imagine leaving my pets with a stranger... also would like to know how to see if they are available during the day or overnight during the week...Thanks!

You can always arrange a meet and greet before committing to any one sitter. Ask all necessary questions, the sitters here are all friendly and I’m sure would be happy to accommodate your needs! I hope this helps!
