Does this site really get 20% of the profits?

I am considering signing up for pet sitting and get to the sign up point of this site wants 20% of my earnings. Can this be true?

You will work as an independent contractor. Just like if you do Uber, Lyft, Rover, Postmates, Grubhub etc... you will always be an independent contractor and they take their cut. This site "only" takes 20%. Some take way more..... so if you become a sitter you have to set up your prices the way you want plus add 20% on top, so you get what you are asking.

The fee covers advertising, payment processing, 24/7 customer support for both the client and the sitter, and maintenance of the website where I advertise my services. For me it's worth it just to have them handle all the payment processing.

Yes, it is true. Rover takes 20% from new sitters. If you choose to become part of RoverGo, then they take 25%.
