1st walk, any certain directions?

Congrats on your first booking! I typically discuss the route I should take with the owner at the M&G, but that being said I usually map out the area beforehand so I see the streets to get a lay of the land. I always use slip leads to walk my clients so I don't have to struggle with ill-fitting harnesses or crappy leashes, and definitely NO retractable leashes. The slip lead allows me to get the dog leashed and I'm out the door in seconds. Of course, I start the event in the Rover App so the client sees my route and time and also if the pup did their business and I attach a pix during the walk. Make sure you have plenty of poop bags and for safety carry a citronella spray just in case a loose dog comes charging toward you!! I've never had to use it, but I always have it just in care.
