How does the additional dog rate work?

How does the additional dog rate work? Is it the rate after TWO dogs or after ONE? How much more should I charge for those additional dogs?

If this is your full time career and want to be in pet services as an entrepreneur, google the top rated places in your area, not the neighborhood sitter , but a successful business and follow their lead on add ons- under cut a little but trust me the client has done their research

And by having a price list immediately available for every type of request- they will respect you more - longer walks, added cat care , medicine administration, all services that should be extra. You won’t end up resentful and gain a regular Rover repeat too.

In Dallas - 30 min walks for healthy dogs are $35 for up to two dogs who are loose leash trained. If hell on wheels do one at a time, do a full 30 min walk - take great care of them - water, crate, cool down after and it’s a $70 walk for both at 1 hour. Offer leash training too

Or partner with a trainer and have a legit team to ask premium rates. I have 4 regular walks daily for 2 clients in my neighborhood at $35 - $50 for 20min to 60 min 2x per day - even did a loose leash clinic for free. Dogs are their family and shouldn’t bargain shop.

If they do and want a break for non stop booking you can throw a freebie in or buy a nice toy and dog cake on their birthday but don’t lower your rates if you know you’re worth it. Your Charity should be offered at shelters and donations not bargain seeking dog owners.

Additional dog rate is applied to any and all dogs over 1. So if you charge $15 a walk and walk the second dog the rate would be $20, or $25 for three. Many sitters/walkers don't upcharge for additional dogs, but it is your choice. I've been a Rover walker for 2.5 years and I don't upcharge for multiple dogs.

Walt is right. Dog #1 is charged at your normal rate. Each additional dog from the same family gets charged the additional dog rate. For boarding my additional dog rate is $10 less than my regular rate. Same care and supervision is required, but because they are from the same family hopefully less behavioral issues and they can play with each other.
