Sitter ghosted me for meet n greet. How do I leave a review for that?

After a long think about it I decided to check http://Rover.com for someone to stay at my house while I am out of town and take care of one dog. The dog would be very comfortable with someone in her house. Thinking it would be best to hire a sitter that lives close by (so they could pop home to deal with mail, etc) I contacted a sitter.

She agreed to a meet and greet and then said she was too busy on the appointed day, could we do it the next day at 2 p.m? Well, here it is 3 p.m. and she's a no-show. I understand things come up, so she could have sent me a text. I texted her at 2:30. No answer. Tried calling at 2:45, no answer. Called again at 3, she wasn't accepting messages.

I'm very disappointed, my elderly mother is in the hospital and not doing well, I need to have a reliable person that can come and take care of my dog should I have to leave town.

I'd like to review her, but since there has been no stay I can't! And the website is pretty hard to navigate if you want to contact http://Rover.com.

I feel like being ghosted is now the norm as it happens to me lately more often than not, I don't need to feel stress over trying to book a pet sitter.

Sorry that happened to you. While it is true that you cannot write a review for that sitter, you can always contact Rover Customer Support. The number is [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]. There is also a webmail capability from Help. I'm sure that Rover would be interested and would be very willing to help you find a suitable sitter.

Karen R. said it very well. I am also Very sorry this happened. We are all independent and I hope you don't see it as a reflection on all of us. I know there are rover sitters that would love to house sit and care for your home and fur baby. Rover support should be told about your experience with this rover sitter. You can also contact rover match 1-[Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Hi Kathryn - I found your post as stuff like this happens to me all the time when using this application. DISCLAIMER: I'm aware of my potential bias regarding my own experiences versus what happens across the board.

I just think it's really interesting that so many of these sitters contact me right away saying they're available only to ghost shortly after. A lot of the time the responses have something to do with an ill grandma, unexpected out of town visit, etc. Now while all of these could be true, I find it suspicious that so many of the people I've contacted have unexpected reasons for why they're not able to sit for my dog. The excuses are insane!!!

I think it has something to do with the fact that most of the people on this app are of the millennial generation and beyond. As a millennial myself, I'm well acquainted with how dodgy my generation can be. The generation whose phone is basically attached to their hip yet "sorry, I didn't see your message."

I'm very frustrated with this portion of the service. There's just no way to hold anyone accountable. I with Rover was able to put stats on the website that gave you some indication of how many people cancelled the meet and greet. I have several stories where a meet and greet a few days before the trip turned into them cancelling and me having to cancel my trip altogether because I was in a pinch. I'm going out of town soon an honestly kind of scared that my sitter is going to ditch out on me right before I leave.

GhostSitter finally got a hold of me, saying she was being called out of town for work and that maybe dog sitting wasn't going to work out for her. Really? I think she has turned off her account for now. But a heads up via text would have taken two minutes.

Well, over and done- have found a fabulous woman to come in and stay with my girl- couldn't be happier. I think this will be a win-win. The dog stays here in her own house-and her own yard.
