What breed of dog would make a good trail and camping dog?
I go camping and horse back riding all the time and I would like to get a dog that was able to come with me. I know each dog is different but I would like to know a breed that would be a good fit/ happy as a trail dog, and able to go for 6-10 hours. My main concern is that the dog has to be friendly with other people or dogs that we might come across and that it’s big enough where I don’t have to constantly worry about it being around the horses, and of course I would wanna dog that generally would stick with us! Chasing a squirrel or deer is okay but I wouldn’t want it to go off and not come back when I call.
I always wanted a Great Perinese but I know they tend to not listen the best (which could be dangerous when trail ridding) and blue heelers and Ausies have to high a higher chance of being agressive or over protective (I’ve had them in the past and love them but I don’t want another) I was thinking maybe a Vizsla but I am not sure? Any ideas?? Or experiences on what to get or not to??
I know any dog can have good or bad traits and I plain on doing a lot of training, but I want to start out on the right foot with the right instinctual manirisms.
Normally, it depends on personal choice, but as I think Pitbull puppies are best breed that make a good trail. You can read further about https://matterhow.com/dog/pitbull-puppies/ (Pitbull Puppies)
