Why am I paying for the booking when its confirmed instead of when it is completed?

What if the person doesn't show up? What if I want to cancel? The payment goes through right away so does that mean if I am owed a refund that will also go through right away?

Rover holds the payment until 2 days after the service. That gives you time to assess the service received or if the host doesn't show for the service they agreed to do. It also assures the rover hosts that they will be paid for the completed services. Always check the Policy of the rover host before you book, so if you do need to cancel you will know how far out you could cancel to get a full refund. Remember, when you book and then want to cancel a week out to the last minute, the rover host may not be able to fill that spot and that isn't fair to the rover host.
