What do you do about insurance/homeownera insurance?

I am going to be buying a house and planned to start pet sitting in my home as i use to pet sit in other peoples homes. I just read a lot about if you do boarding in your homeowners insurance finds out they will drop you no questions asked. What do other people do? I see so many people near my area pet sitting multiple dogs at a time i can't imagine none of these people have homeowners insurance? What is the best course of action to take?

If you are going to pet sit in your home/apt, even tho rover has pet insurance, you should purchase boarding/dog walking, etc. insurance. You can ask your homeowners insurance co. if they do offer the above type of insurance, separate from your homeowners' insurance policy. Don't use your homeowners ins. as many will drop you.

Rover's ins. doesn't cover damage to your home, only your customers dogs.

I use Pet Sitter Associates for dog boarding

Boarding in your home violates most homeowners insurance policy so many try to run under the radar and keep their fingers crossed they don't find out. Rover insurance is useless in providing any liability coverage for the sitter so you MUST purchase pet care business insurance:

There are 4 primary pet business insurance companies for US-based businesses. All of the insurance carriers are very responsive. Make a list of all your questions and ask them of all.
