why a puppy fee that I was not aware of?

I was surprised to see that a I was charged a “puppy fee”. I was not aware there was such a thing and it added quite a bit to my bill. How long is a dog a puppy? My dog is 2 weeks shy of 1 year. I would have liked to have know this ahead of time. I just happened to notice the gray writing on the confirmation. It is really too late for me to start the process over. Thank you. Rover makes sure all services and sitter prices are listed if one tries to add a last minute fee and you approve by mistake Rover will always have your back and review the sitter and also a swift refund. Also the total is sent to you at the availability request level so you know the total prior2pay

Many sitters charge an increased rate for dogs under 1, even though your dog is almost 1 it is still a puppy and it does take more time for a sitter to care for them vs. an older dog. Puppy rates are shown on every Rover profile under Additional services and rates. When you send the booking request to the sitter you should address the upcharge and possibly the sitter will discount it, but it may depend on the activity level of the pup.
