If you would like to tip your sitter, I'm sure he/she would be appreciative. As for whether tipping is expected, they're never "expected." Opinions about tipping sitters vary widely here. Some believe their contracted fees are all that is necessary, while others believe dogsitting is no different from other service for which tipping is very customary. The fact is you are entrusting the care of your fur baby to an individual, something which is far more significant than bringing you an iced tea or doing your nails. There is no right or wrong.

Tipping is a nice way to express appreciation when your sitter (or other service provider) has done a great job. Consider it especially if they have exceeded your expectations.
I don't expect to be tipped, and I haven't received many. They are very much appreciated. One client gave me a gift card, and I have one regular client who brings me small gifts/souvenirs from her trip.
I've tipped my sitters in the past, though I do think it's better, as a sitter, to not expect it and be pleasantly surprised!
Yes, you should tip your sitter! This is no different then any other service based profession such as Hair Stylist, Manicurist, Groomer, Newscarrier, Car Valet, or Waiter/Waitress. A typical tip would be 15-20% for gratitude. A tip shows respect and appreciation for their trustworthy and professional efforts. Thank you to all of my current and future clients!

Not to be a grinch, I'm a typically good tipper unless service is horrendous , which you wouldn't know in this case. However, I would leave out comparing it to ant service industry where the provider is the owner, not done, gauche. Employees, yes
I don't expect tips. I tell them it is not necessary, I will be appreciated and accecpt it if the pet parents insist.

Tipping always tells me I did a great job! It might just be a CA thing, but so far all my tips have been in alcohol forms which has made for a very happy husband seeing as I dont drink myself. Even if its not for me, I know the owner was thinking of me, and grateful for my service.

LOL. I don't expect that would ever happen here in Utah - though I would appreciate a nice bottle of wine or microbrew.
I got tequila from Mexico once! LOL I don't drink much, but I suspect a few friends will have to come enjoy margaritas with me now!
You can absolutely tip your pet sitter! Like everyone else said, we never expect a tip, but it is always appreciated. I personally would take a good review over a tip (that's how other people find us)! And if we get both, that's great!
That's up to you. I personally decline tipping as my all inclusive rates allow me to live comfortably along with my other endeavors. A 5 star review is best for me. I want the dog owner to remain stress free. I never seen a dog hotel asking for tips though unless that changed.
And we sitters can adjust are rates should we want to make more money. So with this freedom tipping is not expected for this online service to find us.
I allowed 2 cute smaller older dogs to stay with me from out of state.the owner tipped me.It was a pleasant surprise and I cannot lie.I needed it. I do prefer ROVER to take care of the finances because of the insurance and all.
River sadly takes the tips. I’ve sent them two emails about this already and have not received any response. Doesn’t seem like that should be allowed. Maybe customers should just tip in person.
