2017 was my first year being a part of Rover, I am curios what I have to do to get my w2 for Rover? When I signed up I think it might of said that PayPal does it for us but I can't remember. It is that time of year now so I am just trying to get it all figured out.
W-2 are only issued to employees, and you are considered an independent contractor for Rover. Here is the information from Rover on how taxes are handled. You will not be issued a 1099 but you still have to report your earnings. The fees charged by Rover are not considered earnings or deductions.
Being an independent contractor means that you will report all earnings and expenses on a Schedule C. There are many expenses you can report - supplies, mileage, anything you buy to support your business. There are many posts in this forum on taxes as well that provide additional information.
