What is best dog with kids?

What is the best med to large dog to live with a 5yr 3yr and 10 week old

I would say Labs for sure, or Viszla.

No doubt about it...a lab..i prefer the black but that is me

The Labrador Retriever has been the number one choice of dog as pet for over 30 yrs. The Golden Retriever is also a good family dog. No small dogs cause kids don't know their own strength & hurt small dogs & that is why small dog bite children, in self protection.

Just like humans every dog is different and has their own personality. Labrador Retrievers have been the number 1 dog for almost 20 years and are my favorite. If you are looking to add a dog to your home please consider a local rescue group as they will work with you and your family dynamics to find a great fit, best of luck.

My thinking on this is...... Dogs are a product of the owner good training and being a family member not "just a pet" will make a huge difference. Dogs want to please you, and they ALL want to be loved and shown they are important, just like humans,If u get a 6wk old puppy and do right by him/her train, love respect, etc then its going to reflect that there are no "bad" dogs, but there is alot of misjudgment and misunderstanding in breeds, which will make people unsure about breeds. Also if your thinking about getting a dog check your local shelters, you ARE saving a life, and that dog will know you did!!

I think that largely depends on your lifestyle and needs. Labs and goldens are very popular because they have a strong need to please humans. They are athletes and need exercise. Bassets are large dogs on short legs. They tend to be mellow and easy going. I have a Bassador (a basset hound x Labrador retriever mix). He is more lively than a full blooded basset but not as much as a lab. Spaniels are also wonderful dogs that are toward the medium side. If you want a specific breed or type of dog (like a sporting dog), check rescues in your area. They are can match you with the right dog. Puppies are awesome but a ton of work. Older dogs are most often already house trained and fully grown. Senior dogs are also great because they tend to be mellow and love attention.
