What to do if the rate on Rover total is incorrect?

What do you mean by rate? I would definitely agree on the sitters point of view.
I guess I'm wondering at what point is the adjustment made because I've been charged for the incorrect rate upfront.
As we said, the adjustment can be made at any time by the sitter before you actually pay for the stay. When you make the initial request, the sitter's listed rates are used to calculate the charge for the stay. Until you pay for it, adjustments can be made. Talk to your sitter or call Rover Support for more help.
Have you paid for the stay yet? If you haven't, the sitter can make adjustments to the rate (edit the stay information). The request is then sent back to you for approval and payment. If you have already paid, I would suggest calling Rover Support for help, since payment takes it out of the sitter's control.
Sitters are able to adjust the rate per client so if they want to provide you a discount or need to charge you extra, then they can do so before you submit payment. However, after you have paid, the sitter can no longer make any monetary adjustments unless the stay is canceled and a new one is booked. Like Cari said, your best bet is to contact Rover.
