I clicked on payment methods and its asking me for my credit card or debit. Will Rover charge me something? If so, how much and why?

Are you in the sign up process? If you are just signing up and they are asking for a payment method for the background check then it is just to charge you for the background check option you selected.
You will not be charged anything until you and your sitter both accept a booking.
what would we be getting charged with being the sitter? not the client
Walt probably didn't see it was a sitter that asked the question. Sitters aren't charged for bookings, only clients. The payment info is there to pay for our background check(s).
