When boarding a dog, is the price per dog or just per night?

I have been asked to board 2 dogs but I didn't know if the fee was per night or per dog

Boarding is per a 24hr period and if owner is picking up (2, 3 or more) hours after drop, a doggy daycare fee can be charged. But, make sure you make that clear at meet & greets and remind owners when they want to book with you. *The doggy daycare fee and how long after drop time is up to you.

I charge $28 for the 1st dog and $12 per 2nd and 3rd dog. For example 1 overnight for 3 dogs from the same family, my fee is $52, per night. Once or twice a year I do a private search in my general area to see what other sitters are charging. I want to stay a little below the average highest rate. My area ranges from $25 to $35. Some sitters do Not discount the 2nd and/or 3rd dog from the same family so their fee would be $28 for "each" dog from the same family -as an example.

Do a private search as if you were an owner looking for a sitter. Put in your zip and read the profiles (to compare to the boarding service you offer) and rates. I offer 1 or 2 walks daily included in my fee, oral meds, No Injections, take seniors, etc. Some sitters do and some don't take walks, meds, injections, etc. If an owner is looking for a sitter that matches what the owner needs and wants, and it comes down to price, the dollar or 3 per night can make a Big difference. DO require a meet & greet as not all dogs may fit you. If the dog isn't a good fit and you realize it at the meet & greet, do be honest with the owner. It will save your sanity! Or, you will learn from experience.
